I’m considering upgrading from a NAD C368 to the new C399 for (a) the extra features (HDMI, Dirac) and (b) higher power output. Speakers are ATC SCM11s with a REL sub. I’d particularly appreciate hearing from anyone with first-hand experience of the C399. The C368 has been great but I suspect it may be a little I believe this is because most subs are wrong for 2-channel and more so not placed where they need or want to be - they are compromised out of necessity. The NAD C368 sounds better, sweeter with more clarity than the Rotel. Since the room is quite small, I don't usually crank up the volume. Given that I listen at a moderate volume, if I upgrade to Dynaudio X18 (4ohm instead of 8ohm X14), will it sound better, with more bass? Or should I upgrade to a beefier amp also?
